I liked so much the posture of my Cloud Strife - Vision that I could not prevent me to re-use it in another work, this time more out of the context of the game.

Voluntary insulation of a melancholic spirit inclined to contemplation, relaxation of the warrior who puts back his cat-like body, tired by a long journey, moment of pause allowed by the mercenary to himself between two missions... Each one will see there what he will want. Off camera, you can even imagine Fenrir, parked not far...

The landscape which monopolizes Cloud's glance exists in our world : it is the view of the Trentino Alps since the Bocca di Navene (alt. 1624 m), on the crest of the Monte Baldo, imposing natural belvedere overhanging the magnificient Lake Garda and its cliffs, in Italy.

J’ai tellement aimé la posture de mon Cloud Strife - Vision que je n’ai pu m’empêcher de la réutiliser dans une autre œuvre, cette fois plus détachée du contexte du jeu.

Isolement volontaire d’un esprit mélancolique porté à la contemplation, relâchement du guerrier qui repose son corps fatigué par un long voyage, moment de pause que s’accorde le mercenaire entre deux missions… Chacun y verra ce qu’il voudra. Hors champs, on peut même imaginer Fenrir garée non loin…

Le paysage qui accapare le regard de Cloud existe bel et bien dans notre monde : il s’agit de la vue plongeante que l’on a sur les Alpes du Trentin depuis la Bocca di Navene (alt. 1624 m), sur la crête du Monte Baldo, imposant belvédère naturel qui surplombe le grandiose lac de Garde et ses falaises, en Italie.

Very nice, it has great depth as the shadowed areas nearby are very strong, but the dark side of the mountains is paler as they are far more distant. And Cloud came out nice as well - looks like he has had enough of the troubles of Midgar and found a better location.

In fact, I conceived this landscape starting from a photograph I took on the spot. I like a lot the Alps. It is a world as magnificient as varied...

I will soon put in Scraps the photograph in question : the landscape is even vaguer !

good work! I really like the mountains background and the way they are drawn... but I must admit i loved the old background with the city...
And now I finally remembered what the simples colours and shapes you use looked like... Tintin!^^ (I don't want to be bad or anything! just remembered suddenly...^^; and I think it's a good thing. I love your work!)

Tintin ? Interesting comparison. I have all the Tintin collection since I am a little boy - and I must confess that I did not open one of them for a long time ! But perhaps - even surely - was I unconsciously marked by Tintin...
